Character
Who dances it: Couples
The ballos of Kefalonia, in 2/4, differs from the Aegean ballos: it is danced in a circle of couples, linked by the palms with bent elbows. Only the first couple leaves the circle to dance figures face to face; when they finish, they go to the end and the next couple follows, until all have had their turn. It has local variants, such as the Thiniatikos or Pylarinos ballos and the ballos of Paliki.
