Character
Who dances it: Everyone
A dance of Central Macedonia named after the gaida, the Macedonian bagpipe. It is danced in different versions around Edessa, Almopia, Naousa and Serres, usually starting with a slow part that gradually turns fast and bouncy. Where there is no gaida, a zourna and daouli pair plays it, with the zourna imitating the bagpipe.
