Character

Who dances it: Everyone

A playful carnival dance for men from Megara, danced to the song of the same name. The step resembles the syrtos sta tria, but in the chorus the men squat and rise again and again (up to twenty times) while moving round the circle, often ending by pushing one another to see who will “fall”. The song pleads with “Loulouvikos”, by tradition a boat, to bring back the young men it took away.
