Character

Who dances it: Everyone

A slow, solemn dance of Naousa that tradition links to the town's destruction in 1822 and the women who threw themselves into the Arapitsa river rather than be captured. It is considered a women's dance; in the 'Genitsari and Boules' carnival custom it is led by the bride-Boula, stately, like a lament.
