Character
Who dances it: Everyone
The 'grand' dance of Vlasti, in Eordaia near Kozani, danced with no instruments, only song: the leading men sing each line and the rest repeat it. It takes place every year on 15 August and on the feast of Saint Panteleimon, in the meadows outside the village, and the circle grows to hundreds of dancers. The steps, 'sta tria' and 'in-and-out', are small, heavy and even. It is listed in Greece's National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
