A 19th-century festive costume from Karpasia, the peninsula at the north-eastern tip of Cyprus. Its base is the "vratzin", pantalettes with fully embroidered ends at the ankle, worn under a cotton chemise and a straight open sayia. Printed kerchiefs are tied on the head.
