The men’s costume of Cyprus took a settled form after the end of Frankish rule and kept it until 1974, with little difference from district to district. Its base is the wide vraka, dark blue for young men and black for older ones. In its festive and bridegroom’s form it has a silk shirt, an embroidered waistcoat and a silk sash.
