A rare festive costume of Ios from the 18th century, in the National Historical Museum. Over a white silk chemise with wide lace go a pleated skirt of costly silk, a waistcoat and the binisi, a long close-fitting coat with sleeves. The headdress, the kourli, is made of a kerchief, a white silk bolia and a brown velvet bow.
