The women’s costume of Lefkada in the 19th century was worn at weddings and feasts. Over a linen chemise went the tsipouni, a pleated dress of pure silk with tight sleeves, and over it the tsoube, a long cloak. On the head, a small cap, a white silk kerchief and a gold pin, the tremola.
